In 2002, Violeta’s first exposure with Salsa (On2 Style) came from a free ladies styling class offered by Lesley (her now co-director and now best friend forever). Within a few weeks, she auditioned for Seaon Bristol and the Seaon Stylist Dance Company in Los Angeles, where she developed and learned the foundation of a New York On2 dancer and performer.
In 2002, Violeta performed her first choreography, “Tribute to 9/11” at the Bacardi Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico. Violeta has performed with the Seaon Stylists Dance Company all over the world at various Salsa Congresses such as San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Barcelona, Zurich, Cannes, Paris, Korea, Japan, Sydney and of course Los Angeles. The two years she spent with the Seaon Stylists was the foundation she uses today in her dance style in addition to the eclectic style she continues to develop.
Since Seaon's retirement from the Salsa scene in Los Angeles, Violeta helped co-found and co-direct the Sakara Dance Company in 2005 with a few of the former Stylist, Lesley Washington, Abby Escobar, David Olarte and Larissa Didyk, where they created a few choreographies and shared them in Zurich Switzerland and in Los Angeles, California. While most of the team has moved to different states and countries, Violeta and Lesley continue to direct and choreograph for the Sakara Dance Company. In addition, they started a performance group, The Sakadelics which is also based out of Los Angeles, California.
Before taking on the challenges of salsa, Violeta achieved a Masters in Physical Therapy and Contemporary Modern Dance at California State University, Long Beach.
