Mission Statement: Sakara Dance Company utilizes the art of dance to express personal emotion, opinions and a love for movement by stepping outside the numeric cadence to dance  salsa. As artistic directors for Sakara Dance Company - Lesley and Violeta continually challenge not only their bodies, but their minds, rhythmically in choreography and social dancing. Sakara Dance Company choose to take a simple eight count of music and physically attempt to use as much organic body opposition as possible.

Vision Statement:  "The ever evolving fluidity and transition of movement" defines our movement and incorporates the concept that hard work is the key to success.  Sakara develops their troupe with a technically solid foundation to become overall students of all dance forms that extend beyond salsa dancing, and offers dance education to people of all ages and level of dance abilities from amateur to professional with the belief that if you can feel the emotion, you can express it through the art of dance.  The Company's performances, the artistic vision and direction serve as its foundation, to preserve and continually contribute to the body of work in this art form.

The Origins of Sakara Dance Troupe:  The word "Sakkara" is best known for the Step Pyramid, the oldest known of Egypt 's 97 pyramids. It was built for King Djoser of the 3rd Dynasty by the architect and genius Imhotep, who designed it and its surrounding complex to be as grand as it was unique and revolutionary. Sakara translates the Step Pyramid  about building your foundation based on the many unique levels and steps of all dance forms, to become grand and revolutionary dancers incorporating it's African roots, ballet, modern and jazz. 

Sakara would like to share their passion, knowledge and expereinces learned by travelling, performing, and instructing over the last 10 years around the world.  Thankfully 10 years ago we had the opportunity to learn and be the core performers for one of leading dance troupes:  Seaon "Stylist" Dance Company.
